RecyOuest has successfully started up the world’s first line for recycling agricultural plastic waste nets at its mill in Argentan, France, featuring a unique dry cleaning system.

The line was delivered, installed and commissioned by Andritz in Augus and can process up to 8,000 tons of waste from plastic nets and twines annually into recycled fibres for nonwovens, as well as pellets for the plastics industry to be turned into agricultural single-use products.

The line’s mechanical dry cleaning system allows resource savings by avoiding the use of water and chemicals. the lowest possible environmental impact.

“It will allow us to minimise our environmental impact drastically in the long run, while giving a second life to agricultural waste for which there was no recycling solution until now, either in France – the leading country in the agricultural sector – or elsewhere,” said Marcela Moisson, RecyOuest founder and president. “We are very grateful for the excellent cooperation with the R&D team from Andritz which fully supported us at its technical centre. Together we succeeded in finding the exact process required for recycling agricultural waste, which was a huge challenge.
