Autefa reports the successful completion of trials with cellulose leader Lenzing at its Nonwovens Competence Centre (NCC) in Linz, Austria, where the latest Futura V-Jet hydroentanglement machine is available for further assessment by customers.

The NCC is equipped with the full portfolio of the company’s nonwovens machinery, from bale to fabric – including opening and blending, web forming, hydroentanglement, drying, cutting and winding.

“The spunlace sector is still challenging for product manufacturers but our new line is now ready for the market and we can help with processing know-how,” said Christoph Machill, head of Autefa’s spunlace business unit. “We are also focused on solutions for the processing of biodegradable products which the market is now demanding.”

Autefa offers complete lines for the production of both direct and crosslapped spunlace products. Its web forming process, consisting of the Injection Card and Topliner CL 4006 crosslapper, is the key to high and consistent nonwoven fabric quality.

The Futura V-Jet and SQV square drum dryer meanwhile offer a rapid return on investment. The Futura allows a 30% reduction in electrical energy consumption due to its unique construction, with a significantly reduced distance between the jet nozzle and fabric formation. The SQV is a highly efficient and space-saving horizontal belt dryer which provides 30% savings in thermal energy compared to the conventional drying technology used in the spunlace process.

It is also possible for spunbond, wetlaid or crosslapped, drylaid nonwovens to be unwound between the card and the hydoentanglement machine, as further processing options.
