Wearable technology pioneers will launch the next generation of sports and fitness devices at next month’s Wearable Technology Show, which takes place from 10-11 March 2015 at ExCeL in London.
More than 100 technology innovators from all over the world will exhibit at the event launching groundbreaking wearable devices to a UK audience for the very first time.
Sports and fitness exhibitors include fitness tracker specialists Jawbone, Misfit, Samsung and younger brands SilverLabel and 2 Pure, Clothing Plus, retailer Decathlon and its personal coaching devices, and O-Range, with its fashion-led solar back packs.
Ducere Technologies
The company will launch the first interactive haptic footwear to a UK audience. Lechal footwear is a disruptive innovation available as an insole or a shoe, which uses Bluetooth technology to connect to the user’s smartphone via the App.
Using simple foot gestures or voice commands, the wearer can use it as a navigational tool or track their activity from a fitness perspective. Lechal communicates with the user via gentle vibratory responses or haptic feedback.
Glofaster
Glofaster will launch its revolutionary cycling jacket. The jacket connects to an app and uses lights and vibrations to give cyclists feedback on their performance. The company launched its running jacket at WTS 2014 (Wireless Telecommunications Symposium).
Sports Performance Tracking
The brand is launching GameTrak, which makes contact activity measurable, shareable and comparable. The software allows coaches to get objective data to compare and analyse each player’s physical output.
Ambiotex
German start-up Ambiotex will debut the prototype for a smart garment that measures biometrical data with medical precision, allowing for extensive analysis to aid training performance optimisation and health.
SmartLife
Smart garment technology specialist SmartLife has created a comfortable smart garment sensor system that reads vital body signals with lab accuracy, delivering them to a compact and lightweight electronic brain housed wirelessly and seamlessly within the garment.
The brain’s advanced algorithms isolate and filter the signals, turning them into meaningful information about heart rate, breathing rate and calorie burn.
MYZONE
The company is launching the MZ-3 tracking system, an upgraded, Bluetooth-enabled version of the heart-rate tracking belt, which allows users to upload exercise data to the cloud via a smartphone. The MYZONE platform rewards with Effort Points and gamiï¬cation.
Beast Technologies
Beast Technologies develops software for wearable technology in the field of strength and fitness training and is launching Beast sensor, a system to track workouts in the gym.
Sports and fitness market
“The sports and fitness market is a multi billion dollar industry and athletes – amateur and professional – are traditionally early adopters, which is why wearable technology for this sector is advancing so rapidly and is so exciting for both developers and end users,” commented John Weir, COO, Wearable Technology Show.
“In addition to showcasing the latest products being developed for this market, we are also hosting a fascinating Sports Performance conference track, featuring speakers from companies including LG and Mclaren Applied Technologies and debating topics such as innovation, performance and tracking.”
