Sandler showcased its entire range of nonwovens for technical applications, home textiles and for the hygiene industry for the 13th time at the Techtextil trade fair for technical textiles and nonwovens that took place in Frankfurt, from 11-13 June , welcoming 550 guests over the three days.
Automotive
For the automotive industry, the exhibits included a wheel house liner made of 100% nonwoven material that is said to be neither affected by wind and weather nor by stone chip.
Visitors were able to witness the permanent hydrophobicity of this and other materials for exterior applications in the vehicle in a practical test: throughout the trade fair, a fluid was stored in a bowl shaped from the nonwoven.
Construction
Nonwoven solutions for the construction industry were also presented featuring materials for sound and heat insulation for exterior and interior walls, for applications in heating and systems engineering as well as for sound proofing in industrial buildings.
The functionality of these materials was shown with a demonstration of models of an insulated roof construction, of an interior wall and a floor with insulation materials as well as pipes insulated with nonwovens.
Highlights
A conference room where visitors were invited to discuss the innovations, was insulated with nonwovens panels, providing a quiet atmosphere despite not being separated from the exterior with glass. Another feature at the show was a cress plant planted on nonwovens for hydroponic supports, a textile alternative for the water-saving cultivation of vegetables.
At the new lounge area Sandler welcomed its guests, demonstrating an optical partition from the rest of the booth created by a curved wall. The element, seven meters wide and more than three meters high, was clad with a mosaic of nonwovens. Embossed, printed or laminated with different materials, the acoustic nonwovens featured various weights and thicknesses and demonstrated the functionality and the versatility of sound and heat insulation with nonwovens.
The Sandler team was supported by CEO Dr Christian Heinrich Sandler, and the members of the management board Wolfgang Höflich and Dr Ulrich Hornfeck as well as six international Sandler representatives. Together, they welcomed about 550 visitors at the company’s booth during the three days of the trade fair.
