Freudenberg Performance Materials will present a range of packaging solutions at Fachpack 2024, taking place in Nuremberg, Germany, from September 24-26, including Evolon microfilament textiles for the reusable technical packaging of sensitive industrial parts, including moulded plastics and painted components.

The durable microfilament fabrics, with high recycled fibre content, serve as viable alternatives to single-use packaging, particularly in the transportation of sensitive industrial goods such as automotive parts, reducing damage during transportation and lowering the rejection rates.

Evolon ESD materials meanwhile address the need for the specialised packaging of sensitive electronic components by providing customisable and permanent electro-static discharge protection, in addition to surface protection.

The Evolon Food Bag has been designed as packaging for food preservation in the home, extending the shelf life of vegetables, fruits and bread by providing excellent moisture and climate management.

This product was a finalist in the 2020 Too Good For The Bin competition, part of the National Strategy for Food Waste Reduction launched by Germany’s Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL).

Also demonstrated at Fachpack 2024 will be nonwoven materials for manufacturing desiccant bags. In addition to conventional fully synthetic materials, Freudenberg’s product range includes sustainable bio-based wetlaid nonwovens which are binder-free and industrially compostable.
