Truetzschler Nonwovens and Texnology have received an order from ORV Manufacturing for a new line based on needlepunched and thermobonded polyester nonwovens, for use primarily as filter media.

The collaboration of the three family-owned companies will establish one of Europe’s biggest multi-purpose lines at ORV, the leading producer of nonwoven fabrics and polyester waddings in Italy.

For over 75 years, ORV Manufacturing, which is part of the Peruzzo Productions Group, has been producing nonwovens including clothing, furnishings, coating supports, filtration, thermal-acoustic insulation and a variety of different products for the automotive sector.

Its production sites in northern Italy are located in Carmignano di Brenta and Grantorto, while the other nonwoven companies of the group are active in southern Italy, Romania, Poland and Brazil.

Get together at the Truetzschler Nonwoven Customer and Technology Center (NCTC) in Egelsbach, Germany.

“With Truetzschler Nonwovens and Texnology, we are pleased to have found two partners with whom we can realise this major project based on the shared values of a family-owned business,” says Gabriele Zanella, CEO of ORV.

The project follows collaborative product development and trials at the Truetzschler Nonwoven Customer and Technology Centre (NCTC) in Egelsbach, Germany, where nonwovens ranging in weights from 35-1,400gsm are prototyped on Truetzschler T-Suprema needlepunching and high-pressure AquaJet hydroentangling lines, including a wide range of single-layer and composite filter media.
