An A.Celli Nonwovens E-Wind Nexus in-line slitting winder was supplied to Innovatec in Troisdorf, Germany, for its most recent 3.2-metre-wide spunbond nonwovens production line.

The winder is equipped with Lucca, Italy-headquartered Celli’s Slittomatic knives positioning system and automatic handling for finished reels and is the latest in a series of winders to be supplied to the German company.

Innovatec was established in 1995 with one of Europe’s most modern meltblown units and the company’s expanding portfolio has included products such as liquid absorbents for the food industry, elastic nonwovens for the hygiene and medical sectors and filter media. The company played a key role in the supply of meltblown filters for facemasks throughout Europe during the Covid-19 pandemic.

A.Celli’s first project with Innovatec was in 2014 when a 1.6-metre-wide Reicofil spunbond line was equipped with a Windy custom in-line slitting winder and four further winders were supplied to serve new 1.6-metre-wide meltblown production lines for medical and filtration applications between 2016 and 2020. These were equipped with a system for the handling of finished reels and shafts.

“A.Celli has impressed us with its practical and creative approach to meeting the requirements of our production processes,” says Innovatec technical director Daniel Jaeger. “Its design and machine production departments are both highly perceptive and efficient and all of the winders were finished precisely and on time. Everything is supported and coordinated by a friendly and knowledgeable sales department, while in the background a reliable customer service is quickly available, both on site and online. The price/performance ratio is also in a fair range and our long experience with the company has given rise to a deep relationship of trust and friendship.”
