Dexco Polymers LP has commercialized a new grade of Vector styrenic block copolymers designed specifically for the hot melt adhesive nonwovens market. Developed under the designation DPX 593, this new commercial block copolymer, Vector 4293A, has a patented, 4-arm radial styrene-isoprene-styrene (SIS) block copolymer structure with a high styrene-isoprene diblock content.
“Given the success of this polymer in bringing benefits in some nonwoven applications, Dexco has now elected to make this polymer more widely available,” saidr Chris Mudd, General Manager, Dexco Polymers. “It has been found to improve the overall cost of the adhesive formulation while also providing additional performance benefits.”
Dexco Polymers LP, a limited partnership of affiliates of The Dow Chemical Company and ExxonMobil Chemical Company, is a global leader in SIS styrenic block copolymers with manufacturing facilities in Plaquemine, LA and sales throughout the world.
