Nordifa AB has acquired fellow Swedish company Sporda Nonwoven AB.
Sporda, a manufacturer of thermobonded and needlepunched technical nonwovens with plants in Sporda and Värnamo, was declared bankrupt on November 18th.
Norrköping-based Nordifa specialises in nonwoven, woven and knitted fabrics with its key markets being filtration, machine components, furnishings, insulation and floor covers.
The activities of the two companies are seen as complementary and Sporda will continue to be run as an independent company.
“The goal is to continue as before with the same focus and the same customers,” says Sporda co-owner Jonas Rylander. “Our owner Nordifa is not planning any changes in the near future, but in the long term we see some opportunities to achieve synergy benefits, for example in material supply and technical development.”
