Heimtextil 2025 opened its doors this morning with over 3,000 companies from the home and contract textiles industry looking for a positive start to the new year at the Messe Frankfurt showgrounds.
Visitor registrations for the show have been made from over 130 countries, reflecting the truly international nature of the exhibition.
During the opening press conference, journalists and guests were shown around the central 650-square-metre installation, ‘Among-Us’, which has been crafted by the team of well-known Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola, who explained the multi-faceted concepts behind it.
Detlef Braun, member of the executive board at Messe Frankfurt, said that as the first textile exhibition of 2025, Heimtextil follows a very successful 2024 for his company.
Messe Frankfurt achieved a turnover of €784 million for 2024, having organised some 330 events around the world involving 98,000 exhibitors and attracting 4.1 million professional buyers.
The Messe Frankfurt Texpertise Network is now the industry’s biggest umbrella organisation bringing together 23,000 textile supply chain companies who take part in a total of 60 related shows.
“We don’t expect 2025 to be without its challenges but we are optimistic,” Braun said. “Companies are looking for stability and also going through a transformation process as the market changes and sustainability assumes more significance. Exhibitions, however, are now back in the game after a period of some turbulence, and despite what the digital world is making possible, there is still no substitute for face-to-face meetings.”
