At the forthcoming Filtech exhibition taking place in Cologne, Germany from February 14-16, Haver & Boecker, will introduce its latest Minimesh RPD HIFLO-S which opens up new dimensions for filtration.
The company, headquartered in Oelde, Germany, is a specialist in woven wire mesh fabrics, primarily for screening and filtration across a range of industries.
Using proprietary weaving technology developed in-house, Minimesh RPD HIFLO-S has a three-dimensional pore geometry created to make industrial filtration processes more efficient, faster and more economical than ever before, with a significantly increased open surface area. The media’s flow-through rate can be doubled when compared to conventional filter cloth of the same pore size and in addition, flow conditions are optimised and turbulence around the filter cloth is effectively avoided.
The pore size within a batch can be calibrated as desired from 5-40μm and the filter cloth can be manufactured from standard diameter wires with a positive effect on cost.
It is now possible to weave special wire materials such as Avesta, Hastelloy, Inconel or titanium in the small pore size range. As a result RPD HIFLO-S offers a corrosion and temperature resistant filter cloth with pore sizes below 40 μm for the first time, with its depth structure providing a high separation effect without rapid blinding. Dirt holding capacity and cleaning capability have both proven to be excellent.
Architectural mesh
Another market for Haver & Boecker is in metal mesh products for architectur al design, as illustrated in the façade cladding of the recently completed Imagerie Médicale Ducloux building in Brive la Gaillarde, France. The Multi-Barrette 8123 architectural mesh selected by the architectural office Dhalluin Peny provides both effective sun protection as well as an aesthetic cladding for the glass façade.
Due to its semi-transparent geometry, Multi-Barrette 8123 reflects UV rays and with an open mesh area of around 64 % also allows good air circulation, which prevents heat accumulation in front of the facade. Despite its solar control function the cladding enables a good view to the outside and provides the rooms with sufficient daylight.
Stainless steel wire mesh from Haver & Boecker is maintenance-free, corrosion-resistant and can be recycled at the end of a long lifetime.
