The seventh edition of HIGHTEX International Technical Textiles and Nonwoven Trade Fair is going to be held from 14-17 April 2018, at Ä°stanbul Büyükçekmece Tüyap Fair and Congress Center, Turkey, concurrently with the ITM 2018 International Textile Machinery Exhibition.

The previous editions of the two leading events held in 2016 attracted 1,200 companies exhibiting their latest technology. The exhibitions were visited by 49,730 professionals from 77 countries, demonstrating the importance of these two events for the Turkish technical textiles sector, organisers report.

On offer

The 2018 edition of HIGHTEX, a leading platform for the Middle East and Eastern Europe in the field of technical textiles and nonwovens, will cover a full range of technology and products, ranging from apparel textiles, food packaging and hygiene products to home and furnishings, transport and geotextiles.

On display will be the latest innovations in the area of technical textiles, raw materials, semi and finished products, as well as production technologies. The leading Turkish exporters of semi and finished products will be among the largest investors attending the fair, organisers report. In line with these developments, it is expected that HIGHTEX exhibition will once again serve as an important platform to provide new networking and business opportunities for the world’s fastest growing technical textiles and nonwovens market professionals.

Turkey's developing market

Turkey, one of the important centres of the world’s textile industry, has seen a rise in the technical textiles market in the recent years due to the development of high value added products. The producers of technical textiles, which started their activities with simple products back in the 1970s, are now said to export tones of raw material and end products to the world.

Technical textile manufacturers produce raw materials or intermediate products using meltblown, spunbond, spunlace, thermobond and waterlaid technologies for a variety of markets, including construction, clothing, geotextiles, home textiles, cleaning/cosmetics/hygiene, automotive, packaging and food industries.

Due to the positive response of foreign investors and the global demand for Turkish products, Turkish producers continue to make further technological investments in order to strengthen and increase their capacities. A number of foreign companies choose to invest into Turkish R&D capabilities, becoming partners with Turkish producers or even bringing their production facilities into Turkey.
