With around nine months still to go before the doors open, Texprocess, a leading trade fair for processing textile and flexible materials, have already reported an outstanding number of registrations with almost 100% of the exhibition space occupied by the fair in 2015 having been booked.

The companies from 14 different countries that have already registered include many new exhibitors such as Mitsubishi Electric Europe, Inventech Europe, Gemini CAD Systems and Hatapress & Garments. In addition to national pavilions from China and Taiwan, Japan will also supplement its individual exhibitors with a joint stand for the first time. A USA presentation is also in planning.

“The large number of registrations shows that Texprocess has successfully carved out a place for itself in the market as the leading international platform of its kind. Texprocess offers the full spectrum of new software solutions, as well as processes and technologies for garment and leather manufacturing. Moreover, the 2017 edition will cover more themes than ever before,” commented Olaf Schmidt, Vice President Textiles and Textile Technologies, Messe Frankfurt.

Textile digital printing and finishing

With the Textile Effects Lab special area, Texprocess will present finishing technologies, such as lasering and destroying on apparel, as part of textile processing. The World Textile Information Network (WTiN) will hold its European Printing Conference for the first time at Texprocess.

Following the success of the première in 2015, the Innovative Apparel Show will be held again with one German and three European universities presenting fashion designs made of functional textiles, and the associated production and processing stages. The show links Texprocess with Techtextil. Again, the IT@Texprocess area will present IT solutions for the production, logistics and distribution of textiles.

Demand for products made in Germany

Texprocess is profiting from a positive economic climate in the sector. According to VDMA Garment and Leather Technology, German manufacturers of sewing and garment technology rang up sales worth EUR 523 million in 2015, which put them in third place after China and Japan.

With an export increase of 6% compared to the previous year, companies sold as much to customers outside Germany as in the last record year, 2002. The main export destinations were the USA, Poland and Italy. In the first half of this year, the sector noted increases in both orders and sales. Sales rose by 5.3% compared to the same period last year while ordered received jumped by 7.6%.

Concurrent events

Texprocess will once again be held concurrently with Techtextil, an international trade fair for technical textiles and nonwovens. The event can also boast a great number of registrations at this early stage.

In 2015, Texprocess and Techtextil attracted a total of 1,662 exhibitors from 54 countries and almost 42,000 trade visitors from 116 nations. Over 13,300 trade visitors and 7,600 visitors from the concurrent Techtextil came to Texprocess 2015.

Texprocess also continues to grow outside Germany, according to organisers. The third Texprocess Americas was held concurrently with Techtextil North America and JEC Americas in Atlanta, GA, US, at the beginning of May, this year, and was once again characterised by an increased number of visitors.
