Mr Pihl has served Web Industries in numerous positions of increasing responsibility for over 25 years. This will be Web's second presidential transition in the 46 year history of the company.

Web Industries provides flexible material converting and end-product manufacturing services for the advanced composites, medical, consumer product, multi-layer insulation, and wire and cable markets. Utilizing the widest array of slitting, spooling, and winding configurations in the business, Web formats composites, nonwovens, specialty films, papers, foils, laminates, and foams for downstream manufacturing.

Extensive experience

Mr Pihl's career includes extensive experience in executive and operations leadership roles and is highlighted by his proven ability to apply world-class standards for technology, systems, quality, and service to build organizations focused on scalable growth, financial health, and delivering industry-leading solutions for customers.

Since being named Web's COO in 2010, he has been instrumental in realigning company assets and resources to better meet customer and market needs, supporting client-driven international expansion, and positioning all aspects of the company for significant future growth.

“Mark has both a long history with Web and the proven business talents to drive strategy and achieve positive results for both our company and our customers,” said Mr Romine, Web's CEO. “He is also a leader committed to our company values, to shaping our business to meet customer needs, and to the personal and professional development of our people. It is a testament to our continued reinvestment in our people that we can turn to him to lead as Web's next President.”

Ambitions

“I am honoured by this opportunity to serve Web Industries as both President and COO. I look forward to meeting the challenges ahead during this important time in our company's history, as we position the company for significant growth,” said Mr Pihl.

“As Web continues to evolve in all of our strategic markets and expand internationally, we must be deliberate in our efforts to focus on our customers' future needs, preserve our company's founding values, and position the company for sustainable long-term growth.”

Organizational growth initiatives

In addition to ensuring that Web Industries continues to meet and exceed customer and market expectations, Mr Pihl will be focusing on sustaining key leadership development and organizational growth initiatives that were started when he became Web's COO five years ago.

Always passionate about helping people fully develop their talents, he has identified these initiatives as crucial to building Web's future as a company that operates without walls, in which every employee-owner is supported by and accountable to each other and all company stakeholders work together towards a shared vision of future success for both Web Industries and the company's customers.
