Shin Han, a leading manufacturer of high-performance textiles since 1993, is introducing its new Sense portfolio of products, including the waterproof, windproof and breathable J-Sense collection and the A-Sense downproof range, in addition to HzerO for enhanced water repellency and Aeropyl – the first dyeable polypropylene fabric.
The J-Sense collection includes:
-Proweb, which exploits an electrospun membrane that is ultra-thin and lightweight, and a layered mesh construction with a porosity of over 85%. By Spring/Summer 2024, Shin Han will make a PFC-free version of Proweb available which is poised to become the most sustainable spun membrane on the market.
-Core, which features PU, polyester, and TPU films in combination with lightweight backers for ultimate performance. The newly developed J-Sense Core polyester fabric consists of a PET face and a PET film, making it 100% recyclable.
The A-Sense downproof range comprises:
- Zzagle, with a delicate soft hand and a unique shiny cire finish with natural wrinkles.
- Slimlight, which has a tightly woven structure for excellent tear and tensile strength.
- WOA, the lightest shell fabric in recycled 7D nylon.
HzerO
Outstanding waterproof protection is provided by HzerO fabric which is designed to withstand harsh environments and extreme rainfall. It uses special processing agents and a proprietary eco-friendly plasma technology. To determine performance in severe rainfall conditions, every HzerO product has to undergo the Bundesmann rain shower test — estimated to be up to 1,000 times more intense compared to the average AATCC 22 spray test. The Bundesmann test results show a grade 4 or higher result even after 20+ wash cycles.

Aeropyl
Aeropyl is the first dyeable polypropylene fabric developed by Shin Han and based on the lightest fibre ever created. It is naturally water-resistant and has superior moisture transport. Available in knit or woven material and two-layer laminates, its super lightweight touch makes it ideal for extended use in outdoor activities.
“Through the development of technology that reflects market trends, we will continue to present innovative products that will impress buyers and motivate the industry,” said Jong Hoon Lee, head of Shin Han.
