Hologenix has partnered with Spectro Coating Corporation – one of the world’s largest vertically integrated flock coating and flock fabric manufacturers – to create the first flocked infrared material with Celliant Viscose.
In flocking, tiny fibres are piled onto the surface of a textile, creating textures to provide both decorative effects and functional properties. Celliant Viscose in a flocked material has many potential applications in the medical field, as well as in home textiles and decor, clothing and more.
Celliant Viscose was created by Hologenix and Kelheim Fibres as the world’s first sustainable infrared viscose. Celliant features natural, ethically sourced minerals which convert body heat into infrared energy for increased local circulation and cellular oxygenation. Celliant Viscose provides all the benefits of viscose, being lightweight, soft and highly breathable, with excellent moisture management
“Celliant Viscose in a flock coating or fabric is very exciting for us,” said Raj Shah, vice president of Spectro Coating, which is based in Leominster, Massachusetts. “Not only is it the first time our company has worked with a performance fibre, putting us in a new category, but the sustainability of Celliant Viscose also very much aligns with our mission.”
