President and CEO of Suominen changes
Suominen, a market leader in nonwovens for wipes, has appointed Pekka Ojanpää as the new President and CEO of the company.

Suominen, a market leader in nonwovens for wipes, has appointed Pekka Ojanpää as the new President and CEO of the company. Ojanpää works currently as the President and CEO of Lassila & Tikanoja and starts as Suominen’s President and CEO latest on 3 February 2019.
Suominen’s current President and CEO Nina Kopola will leave her position. Tapio Engström, CFO, has been appointed as Suominen’s interim President and CEO as of 3 August 2018. “Suominen has taken right measures in recent years and the company has a strong market position. The ambitious growth targets, as well as its global reach provide me with an exciting challenge,” commented Pekka Ojanpää.
Ojanpää (born 1966) is Master of Science (Econ.) and prior to working as President and CEO of Lassila & Tikanoja, has worked, among others, in executive positions at Kemira Oyj and Nokia Corporation. Ojanpää is also member of Board of Directors of Technopolis and member of Supervisory Board of Ilmarinen Mutual Pension Insurance Company.

Suominen manufactures nonwovens as roll goods for wipes, as well as for medical and hygiene products. The end products made of Suominen’s nonwovens include wet wipes, feminine care products and swabs, for instance. Suominen is a market leader in nonwovens for wipes and employs more than 650 people in Europe and in the Americas. Suominen’s net sales in 2017 amounted to EUR 426 million and operating profit to EUR 15 million.
