With co-locating events – Smart Factory Expo, the IMechE conference and Lab Innovations – visitors at Advanced Engineering investigated Industry 4.0, what the future of manufacturing will look like; what will drive it and what new capabilities it will generate.
Innovation was, therefore, the key focus at the event, with a whole raft of the exhibitors demonstrating new products to the largest dedicated audience of buyers and key decision makers. This included Schneider Electric presenting its new Eurotherm Online Services; and CompositeMaterials Italy displaying its new NANOALLOY technology.
The event comprised of four zones, dividing the exhibition fairground into dedicated areas – Aero Engineering, Composites Engineering, Automotive Engineering, and Performance Metals. On show at the Composites Engineering zone were innovations by leading industry experts, including Hexcel, with its carbon multiaxials for the award-winning Zenos E10 chassis; Sigmatex, with a launch of its new recycled composite material; Norco, exhibiting a wing tip built using carbon fibre for the Facebook project Aquila; and a Coventry based company Morgan Advanced Materials, which promoted its lightweight Silverback bomb suit.
