Heathcoat Fabrics has introduced a new range of fabrics featuring a unique graphene-print technology.
Graphene is an extremely lightweight, very thin and incredibly strong carbon-based material with many unique properties such as electrical and heat conductivity, resistance to high temperatures, natural anti-bacterial properties and superior durability.
Used in thermal regulation, the lightweight, fine gauge knitted fabrics can deliver advanced heat dissipation and offer an increased cooling rate of up to 60%. This allows garments made from the material to spread body heat and prevent overheating.
The graphene prints also have a strong surface resistivity and a significant anti-static performance, making them ideal for applications such as personal protective equipment (PPE).
Additional benefits include valuable antibacterial properties and availability in multiple variations of graphene print patterns.
Applications are envisaged in sportswear and active clothing, healthcare and medical, PPE and military apparel.
