Eightyards is a new a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Hugo Boss Group which has been established in Metzingen, Germany, to repurpose the brand’s surplus materials into new products.
Eightyards will focus on the core business areas of the reselling, reusing and up or downcycling of surplus textiles to customers in the fashion industry and beyond.
The new business is being driven by two of the company’s former employees as co-directors – Markéta Miltenberger and Placido Klitzke.
“The creation of Eightyards shows our great internal talents and their entrepreneurial spirit,” says Hugo Boss CEO Daniel Grieder. “I am excited to see the contribution that Eightyards will deliver to the circular economy. In addition to its reselling activities, Eightyards aims to transform unused fabrics into new products such as clothing, tote bags, shoe bags or pillowcases.
Since its launch, Eightyards has already started collaborating on fits irst projects with customers from the fashion and telecommunications sector.
“As a Hugo Boss subsidiary, we have access to high-quality surplus materials which have been sourced under high ESG standards,” explains Markéta Miltenberger. “Our aim is to drive cross-industry collaboration with partners beyond the fashion sector.”
