Organised by KTN, Innovate UK and EPSRC and supported by DSTL, MRE ’18 is expected to be the UK’s biggest and finest materials innovation event of the year, according to KTN.
On show will be materials innovation from both academic and industrial research groups. The event will provide a platform to help develop commercial success of UK-generated materials innovation, inform industrial strategy and build links within the materials supply chain to strengthen the UK materials offer to OEMs and end users.
Exhibiting
This event is open to all UK university research groups working on advanced materials, as well as industry research centres based in the UK working collaboratively on advanced materials. Exhibiting organisations will also be invited to send graduate research students to present their academic work by poster and a prize will be awarded to the poster that is judged to be the best by the audience.
The last event in 2014 included exhibitions from major materials research groups in the UK and keynote speakers from Morgan Advanced Materials, the European Commission and BIS.
Highlights
This event will have more exhibition stands for academic and industrial exhibitors and more than 600 delegates, opportunities to meet the Advanced Materials Leadership Council and attend targeted seminars.
There will be a quick-fire pitching event – highlighting Innovate UK Portfolio projects; targeted seminar on finance with investors; pitching training; session on technology transfer from our world class research base; and academic seminars on a range of cutting edge areas such as graphene and nanotechnology.
A technology focus will be on key application areas such as aerospace, automotive, energy, health, defence and sustainable construction. There will also be presentations from industry leaders, BEIS and board level members of Innovate UK, EPSRC and UKRI.
