The Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel Association (HKRITA) has recently made new agreements with two mainland partners – the China Textile Academy (CTA) and sportswear leader Anta Group – aimed at pooling expertise and resources.
CTA and HKRITA aim to accelerate technology transfer and commercialisation by scaling up laboratory technologies into pilot tests and intermediate trials. Developments with Anta will be tailored to the needs of athletes and promoting the brand’s sustainable development.
“R&D requires a multitude of brilliant ideas to succeed,” said HKRITA CEO Jake Koh. “These new agreements will address the current needs and challenges of the textile industry in order to stay ahead of the competition.”
“CTA has established a comprehensive innovation chain that spans from materials and fibre preparation to core equipment, fibre application research and standards testing and measurement certification,” added Ma Yongmei, general manager of China Textile Academy. “The collaboration between CTA and HKRITA will not only bring fresh impetus to technological innovation but also further promote technology transfer, fostering the integration of R&D and industrialisation.”
“We look forward to working closely with the HKRITA to create an innovation platform and ecosystem, aiming to enhance the value chain of sportswear industry,” said Li Su, vice president of Anta Group.
