During opening of the conference that took place in Barcelona last month, Pierre Wiertz, General Manager of EDANA, reminded delegates that there was a close relationship between many of the conference themes, and EDANA’s mission to support the growth and promote the sustainable development of the industry.

Sustainable and profitable growth

“While our industries continue to face challenges, be it those raised by the relative uncertainty of the current global economy or geo-political situations, or the demands from the end consumer, our industry will address these – as you do with other challenges – with a recognition of the indispensible role your products play in our lives every day, and the social benefits they deliver,” said Wiertz.

“With the changing demands from the consumer, from developing markets, and evolving requirements along the supply chain, both the Association’s coordinated programme of work, and the continual investment and development by companies are essential to the sustainable and profitable growth of individual companies and the industries we serve,” continued Wiertz.

Feedback

Feedback from participants throughout the event underlined the satisfaction with the many opportunities to meet with the industry, and the mix and quality of papers, EDANA reports.

The next edition of Outlook will take place in Athens, Greece, from 23-25 September 2015.
