In the next Autumn/Winter season, Jack Wolfskin will use PrimaLoft’s Rise insulation in over 30 different products and a variety of styles – from parkas to technical hiking jackets.
The unique construction of the insulation allows it to perform across a variety of weights and thicknesses and brands to create everything from oversized puffers to thin, lightweight pieces. Approaching 50 global brands have now taken advantage of this flexibility, including adidas Terrex, Helly Hansen, Hugo Boss, Joe Fresh, J.Crew, Lululemon, Ripzone, and Yeezy Gap. Introduced in 2020, it has quickly become one of the fastest-growing products in the Primaloft portfolio.
“The unique construction of Rise insulation provides lightweight warmth that is highly durable and resists compression across an incredible variety of thicknesses and weights,” said Tara Maurer-Mackay, Primaloft senior vice president of product strategy. “This allows us to provide brands with a product they can use to design everything from a lifestyle puffer or technical outdoor jacket to a sleeping bag or cozy duvet.”
The product’s durability also results in very few construction requirements for designers, adding to its versatility. Low water retention means it retains warmth, even when wet and it also has a post-consumer recycled content of at least 80%.
“With Primaloft we have found the right partner for advanced sustainability practices to create high-performance and durable products,” said Daniele Grasso, vice president of product and apparel at Jack Wolfskin. “We have brought together the extensive expertise of both companies to optimise the comfort, performance, durability and longevity of our insulated models. Due to the unique construction of Rise insulation, we can use it in multiple categories throughout the Jack Wolfskin collection – from ski touring to hiking and modern lifestyle products.”
