Shima Seiki, a leading computerized knitting machine manufacturer, of Wakayama, together with its Italian subsidiary Shima Seiki Italia will exhibit its latest technology at the ISPO Munich trade fair, which will be held in Germany from 5-8 February. Shima Seiki will be a corporate sponsor to the ISPO Brandnew Village, a special display section for presenting award winning innovations by newcomers to the sports industry.

On display in the company’s booth at Brandnew Village will be the latest sportswear samples produced on its latest line of computerised knitting machines, including seam-free WHOLEGARMENT knitwear that features superior fit, comfort and style. Nearby at its main booth, a WHOLEGARMENT knitting machine along with a computer design system will be shown.

MACH2XS knitting machine

The flagship MACH2XS WHOLEGARMENT knitting machine features such innovations as the original SlideNeedle on four needle beds, as well as the company’s patented spring-loaded moveable sinker system.

It can knit beautiful, high-quality 3D Items with dimensional structures and details that are unique to WHOLEGARMENT, all with very high efficiency while minimising dependence upon labour-intensive sewing and linking, the company explains.

3D design system

The SDS-ONE APEX3 3D design system will also be available for demonstrating its “all-in-one” capability to support all aspects of fashion design and production. APEX3 is at the core of Shima Seiki’s Total Fashion System concepts, designed to allow smooth workflow from planning, design and programming to production and even sales promotion.
