Sigmatex delivers materials for Turkish ferries project

Ordered by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, Özata Shipyard was tasked to build a series of passenger ferries to ease traffic congestion.

With a need to ease congestion traffic travelling into the city of Izmir by roads, the ferries needed to be designed to travel as quickly and efficiently as possible. Özata Shipyard in conjunction with TBS Yard AB, approached Sigmatex with a material design brief to meet the design specification.

Sigmatex already has proven track record in providing a high-volume supply chain into demanding customers such as the US Navy (Zumwalt-class destroyer DDX) and Kockums (Visby Corvettes).
