Istanbul headquartered Twines Tekstil has developed a reusable double layer community mask using its proven SilverGuard technology, which has been ‘COVID-19 approved’ by Centexbel’s Gent, Belgium, based testing laboratory.
Health workers are among the first to respond when an infectious pathogen threatens a community, Twines says. Indeed, they are often among the first to be affected. Before the cause of an outbreak has been identified and before infection control measures have been put in place, health workers can find themselves at heightened risk of infection, the company explains.
In this COVID 19 pandemic the general public has been greatly affected and due to its contagious in nature rapidly spreading globally, Twines adds.
“SilverGuard product developer Twines Tekstil has been in existence since 2014 and has been pioneering in promoting Silver based anti-microbial and anti-viral products,” comments Twines Textiles Prasad Subramanya.“ The product profile includes face masks, skull caps, hospital scrubs and uniforms, privacy curtains, door handle sleeves, hospital bedsheets, pillowcases and towels.”
“Our SilverGuard masks that we developed at our technology centres in Germany and Turkey has demonstrated its performance brilliance in eliminating the pathogens and safeguarding the wearer from possible attacks,” Mr Subramanya says.
“Unlike the basic nonwoven masks and the N95’s which are available in the market, our masks are a 2-layer fabric mask with the 1st layer of polyester with 99.99% pure structured silver yarns to give that cutting edge in its performance. The 2nd layer is soft cotton fabric which will gives greater comfort for long term wearing specially in hospital settings. Eliminating 99.99% bacteria and limiting the infectious viruses spread, SilverGuard can be the perfect PPE for both healthcare and lifestyle use.”
Mr Subramanya continues: “SilverGuard masks are 100% recyclable unlike the disposable masks which poses greater environmental risks and high-level burden of garbage disposing management. We respect and also make sure our creations serve the mankind and saves our planet of further damages.”
“Our technology masks with multiple washable capabilities (50 washes has been tested), our product in terms of economics will be the cheapest mask on the planet based on multiple usage costing with immense performance capabilities.
SilverGuard masks have been tested in accredited test labs in Belgium and Turkey to prove its performance attributes. We are certified mask for COVID 19 pandemic as per the attached certificate,” Prasad Subramanya concludes.
