Strengthening ties in textile digitalisation

Cooperation follows 15 years of ITA activitiy in South Korea and the establishment of the SmartTextronics Centre.

Dongshin University in Naju in South Korea and the Institute of Textile Technology (ITA) at RWTH Aachen University in Germany are to cooperate in the fields of industrial digitalisation and renewable energies.

A cooperation agreement was signed on July 9th by Professor Chun-Shik kim, an expert on German-Korean economic cooperation, and ITA director Professor Thomas Gries.

The new cooperation follows 15 years of ITA activity in South Korea which has led to the establishment of the SmartTextronics Centre in Ansan  and the partnership between the cities of Aachen and Ansan.

Dongshin University specialises in engineering, information and communication technology and renewable energies and is known for its international cooperation and contribution to regional and global development.

RWTH Aachen University is one of the leading technical universities in Europe and is internationally recognised for its research achievements in the field of textile technology.
