AMI's 1st Asia-Pacific international conference on markets and technology of flexible barrier packaging, Specialty Packaging Films Asia 2014, will take place from 24-26 March 2014 at the hotel Swissȏtel Nai Lert Park in the lovely city of Bangkok, Thailand. Food security is a big issue worldwide as the global population is predicted to expand dramatically in the next 40 years. Packaging plays a vital part in preserving and protecting perishable foods and flexible packaging offers the additional benefit of light weight, reducing material usage and transport costs. The materials and production technology for multilayer films are advancing to provide optimum tailored solutions for each application requiring barrier packaging.  Factors to consider include gas and water barrier properties, aroma, physical protection, consumer appeal and shelf-life.   These higher performance films are also used in industries such as pharma where similar protection is necessary.

Specialty Packaging Films Asia 2014 provides a global networking opportunity for all companies involved in the manufacture and specification of Specialty Packaging Films, being they brand owners, retailers, converters, producers, distributors, importers or suppliers to the industry.
