Spinning technology leader Rieter has this week laid the foundation stone for its new campus in Winterthur, Switzerland.
The new €80 million Rieter Campus houses a customer and technology centre and an administration building and underlines the company’s commitment to Switzerland as a business location.
“In the course of its 225-year company history, Rieter has helped shape the city of Winterthur,” said Bernhard Jucker, Rieter Holding AG chairman. “The foundation for the future as a leading technology company is now being created with the new campus.”
The new campus is a showcase project in terms of economic feasibility, energy efficiency and sustainability. Rieter will rely on renewable energy for construction, including heat generation via geothermal probes and a photovoltaic system on around 1,300 square metres of roofing area. The move into the new building is planned for 2024.
