Saertex and Terre de Lin have launched a collaboration for the creation of non-crimp fabrics for composites with flax fibres for the marine and sports and leisure segments.
The partnership will combine expertise in reinforcement materials with the capacity of one of the world’s largest suppliers of sustainable flax fibres.
Saretex is known for its expertise in composite reinforcements made from glass, carbon and aramid fibres. In addition to basalt, flax is now the second bio-based fibre that expands its range. Flax fibres are renewable and have minimal environmental impact during processing.
Terre de Lin, based in Normandy, manages flax culture and its transformation from seeds to fibres and strives to continuously improve the environmental impact of flax production.
