Jim Evans has been appointed Product Manager at leading outdoor performance sock manufacturer Bridgedale. With around 20 years’ experience in the outdoor industry, Evans aims to bring a fresh dynamic to the brand, working closely with the team to bring clear focus to its future brand and product strategy.
Evans was one of the founders of Alpkit back in 2004 and has also worked for other Bollin Group companies, including Trekmates and Sprayway. Jim also volunteers for Watersafe UK Search & Rescue.
“Jim has an extensive background in outdoor product innovation and his in-depth knowledge of the outdoor market will help us to take the Bridgedale brand forward, aligning with our future brand strategy. He joins our motivated team at a pivotal and exciting time,” commented Mark Brennan, Managing Director at Bridgedale.
Bridgedale has more than 100 years of knitting heritage and is best known for its Fusion Technology, which brings together knitting technology and technical fibres to provide balanced insulation, fast wicking moisture control and durability. Evans will now take this strong technical sock heritage and drive it forward to appeal to, and reach, a greater audience of outdoor enthusiasts, focusing on the outdoor, ski, trail sport and lifestyle sectors, the company reports.
“As a regular user of Bridgedale socks for many years and a person who spends much of the time enjoying outdoor activities, I fully appreciate how important it is to have dry and comfortable feet,” said Jim Evans, Product Manager at Bridgedale.
“As the outdoor industry continues to change at pace, I’m looking forward to keeping up with trends and adapting to take the Bridgedale brand and product range forward, increasing appeal to a wider audience and a future generation of outdoor enthusiasts.”
