Premium Swedish footwear brand Kanso is launching Kanso Dragonfly shoes specifically designed for indoor activities such as handball, volleyball and badminton.

The shoes exploit the patented new NexX4 technology developed by Verona, Italy-based JV International which is said to not only redefine the concept of soles but also the way shoes are conceived, designed and manufactured – starting from the sole rather than the upper.

NexX4 technology enables the creation of highly abrasion resistant soles that are less than a millimetre thick and 50% lighter than traditional rubber soles, without compromising performance. They also maintain maximum performance across a wide temperature range, from –40°C to +40°C.

The soles are transparent but completely and easily customisable in terms of colours, texture and design, adapting perfectly to the individual needs of a brand.

In Dragonfly shoes, the NexX4 soles integrate with the tread design to support a player in every phase of a game. The design of the tread blocks ensures optimal stability and grip, for quick sprints and changes of direction. Two large pivot points under the sole also improve the effectiveness of turns and enable faster, more aggressive movements.

Every detail of the Dragonfly has been carefully considered and The robust midsole provides comfort and good energy return, while the shock-absorbing heel insert reduces impact during movement. The support structure provides additional stability during starts, stops and quick lateral movements.

“Our collaboration with Kanso marks NexX4’s entry into the indoor sports sector with a shoe that will boost the performance of athletes and sports enthusiasts,” says Ambrogio Merlo, JV International CEO and Managing Director of NexX4. “The Dragonfly incorporates all the key features that make NexX4 technology unique – lightness, abrasion resistance grip, and fully customised graphics.”

“The Dragonfly is a completely unique product that feels different from other indoor shoes,” adds Tomas Solin, founder and developer of Kanso shoes. “The super-thin, yet grippy and durable NexX4 sole has allowed us to design a shoe that, in some ways, feels almost like a running shoe, but with the stability needed to move confidently on the court.”

The shoes are being endorsed by Viktor Lindgren, captain of the Swedish national volleyball team.

“Dragonfly with NexX4 allows me to move quickly on the court and provides incredible cushioning and energy with every jump,” he says.
