At the forthcoming ISPO 2022 sports show in Munich from November 28-30, Japan’s Asahi Kasei – celebrating its 100th anniversary this year – will exhibit a wide range of performance materials from its Ecosensor and Roica brands.
The company will also introduce its new RespiGard by Polypore membrane for outdoor apparel.
A proprietary and patented manufacturing process and components provide a high porosity membrane that allows for airflow and moisture evaporation but its pore structure is too small for water droplets to penetrate.
RespiGard is naturally hydrophobic, has a smooth and uniform surface and is also lightweight due to its high porosity. It is produced using a solvent-free manufacturing process with a low carbon footprint. The polypropylene-based membrane is recyclable and perfluorocarbon (PFC) free.
In order to best demonstrate the performance and possible applications of the fabrics made with RespiGard and Ecosensor, Italian outerwear brand Zerobarracento will be presenting a special outfit at the Munich exhibition.
The majority of Ecosensor fabrics are made with sustainable ingredients which are certified by international certifications such as GRS and RCS through a traceable and transparent production process and supply chain. In addition, all of the stretch articles made with Roica EF feature recycled stretch yarn made from pre-consumer materials.
