OutDoor to present latest product innovations for junior adventurers

Software and hardware for kids this season will form an important part of the OutDoor show.

Deuter now presents its new Gogo XS daypack version for kids aged five and up. © Deuter Come outdoor manufacturers are now offering a complete children’s collection from head to toe, in response to the growing demand for children’s outdoor clothing. The coming season’s innovations for kids include footwear, as well as backpacks and wearable technology.

OutDoor 2016, the leading international outdoor trade show, will be premièring all the latest trends for outdoor kids from 13-16 July in Friedrichshafen, Germany.

The thirst for adventure is growing, especially when it comes to people with kids. More and more families spend their leisure time hiking, mountaineering, geocaching and at the climbing wall. The growing interest in such activities means greater demand for outdoor gear for kids, who can benefit from hard-wearing, waterproof and fashionable clothes. Software and hardware for kids this season will form an important part of the OutDoor show.

Comfortable footwear from Keen

There’s a wide range of new kids’ footwear on offer. Keen is offering Moxies, which are designed for active outdoor girls. The resulting collection is colourful, robust and comfortable.

“The Moxie sandal has a lightweight, washable upper fabric and practical bungee laces – ideal for exploring playgrounds or beaches and rock pools,” commented Sylvia König from media agency W&P Publipress. The model also features an ergonomic footbed and Cleansport NXT treatment that works to prevent odour and keep little feet fresh.

Colourful kids collection from Jack Wolfskin

Jack Wolfskin also offers a colourful product for Summer 2017 with its Monterey Air Low Kids, the new multifunctional kids’ leisure shoe, available in range of fresh colours.

“Not only is it very lightweight, it’s also super breathable,” explained Sonja Greimel from Burkhardt PR. The flexible sole is designed to provide a good grip and the rapid lacing system helps make it easy to put on and take off.

Wolfskin is also introducing the new, versatile Glen Dale Kids 3-in- 1 jacket, which includes a cosy, breathable fleece with a windproof, water-resistant vest. In addition, all items combine with other Jack Wolfskin products via the system zip. “It’s a multifunctional piece of clothing that can easily be adapted according to the weather conditions,” said Greimel.

Wearable technology for kids from Reima

Another highlight of the coming season comes from Reima, the Finnish company, which makes kids’ functional outerwear. The company presents a new invention called ReimaGO – a wearable movement sensor that tracks activities and movement and helps motivate kids to move more.

“Parents are worried that their kids spend too much time playing games on smartphones or games consoles. We’re turning the tables and harnessing the advantages of digital games. After kids have been active and run around outside, they can enjoy watching what their ReimaGO sensor tracked on a computer screen,” explained Elina Björklund from Reima.

ReimaGO clothing with the integrated wearable movement sensor and mobile app will be available from Autumn 2016. Parents have their own view of the app where they can follow kids’ activity levels, and also set individual goals and rewards.

Deuter’s new backpack

Deuter, a leading producer of backpacks, bags and sleeping bags, now presents its new Gogo XS, which builds on the design of the original product line. The Gogo is a popular daypack that is now available in a version for kids aged five and up. “The same as all our packs, we’ve fitted it with a high-quality back system to provide good ventilation,” said Angela Vögele, Public Relations Deuter.

Environmentally-friendly products from Vaude

Outdoor expert Vaude is expanding its range of environmentally-friendly products for kids. From summer 2017, Vaude’s kids’ packs will also be made of environmentally friendly materials which are certified according to the strict bluesign system.

“My favourite product in the collection is the small, fun and practical waist pack Flori, in green,” said Benedikt Tröster from the Vaude press department. The green waist pack has a happy frog face and a practical zip compartment with enough room to store any treasure found while out and about. “And it’s not just the frog that’s green – the pack is environmentally friendly and features fair production and our Green Shape guarantee,” explained Benedikt Tröster.
