Cygnet Texkimp had a highly successful three days at last week’s JEC World 2025 in Paris, highlighting how its fibre handling and processing solutions are enabling lightweighting, decarbonisation and sustainability in advanced materials, transportation, aerospace, space, automotive and defence.
The fibre handling expert and custom machine builder based in Cheshire, UK, showcased technologies from across its portfolio, including its high-tension carbon fibre overwrapping solution for the manufacture of high-performance electric motors and hydrogen fuel cell powertrains. The company also detailed the benefits of the new Deecom fibre recycling solution which reduces waste and enables circularity in composite materials and parts by reclaiming high-value recycled carbon fibres.
The Cygnet Texkimp Multi Roll Stack prepreg and towpreg is designed to produce industrial and aerospace grade prepregs in high volumes and offers quick-step, fast-paced development of prepreg materials cost-effectively and in-house, while a comprehensive portfolio of advanced creels are designed to optimise tension control and uniformity for technical yarns such as carbon fibres and aramids.
Cygnet Texkimp’s CEO Luke Vardy also took part in the panel discussion on composites for hydrogen transportation and distribution during the exhibition in Paris.
“Decarbonisation is a major priority for manufacturers globally,” he said. “At Cygnet Texkimp, we’re developing the capability to process technical fibres in ways that enable lightweighting, hydrogen power and electrification, reduce waste and revolutionise end-of-life management of composite materials and parts. In collaboration with our industry partners, we’re bringing to market some of the most innovative new fibre processing technologies ever developed to deliver real-world benefits that support the sustainability agenda.”
