Austrian brand Schneiders has chosen yarns from Fulgar’s sustainable portfolio, and especially Amni Soul, for its first eco-sustainable mini capsule Autumn/Winter 2021-22 collection.

The collection is biodegradable right down to the zips and comprises two down jacket and a coat in different sizes.

These functional, ultralight garments garments are warm and comfortable and created using a sustainable fabric made entirely from Amni Soul Eco, a polyamide 6.6 biodergadable yarn.

The result of research by the Solvay Group in collaboration with Milan-headquartered Fulgar, Amni Soul Eco offers exceptional biodegradability. If correctly disposed of in special anaerobic sites, it biodegrades in around five years. Schneiders has also chosen to use exclusively biodegradable zips for these garments.

“We’re delighted that an established brand like Schneiders has chosen our green yarns for this collection,” said Fulgar marketing manager Alan Garosi. “It’s a significant acknowledgement of our now decade-long commitment to developing an increasingly sustainable Europe-wide supply chain”,

“At Schneiders we believe that with the sustainable portfolio it provides, Fulgar is the perfect partner offering high-quality yarns that respect the environment and can fulfil the requirements of a rapidly-expanding market, with an increasing focus on the use of functional eco-compatible fabrics,” added Wolfgang Binder, owner and CEO of the brand.

Fulgar is an international leader in the synthetic fibre sector, producing and distributing nylon 6.6 and covered elastomers for the textile and technical fabric sectors.

Launched in the late 1970s at Castel Goffredo (Mantova), in Italy’s hosiery region, the company’s investment in R&D has seen constant growth. A commitment to environmental issues has also contributed to its success, expressed through projects and initiatives involving the entire production chain and sustainable products like Q-Nova regenerated yarn and bio-based Evo yarn. Fulgar is present in all sectors of the textile industry, from hosiery to circular knits, intimate wear, beachwear and sportswear.

Fulgar is also the exclusive distributor in Europe and Turkey of Lycra, Lycra T400 and Elaspan fibres. In 2012 it forged a partnership with the Solvay group, becoming the distributor and producer  of Emana fibre, Amni Soul Eco and Q-Skin.
