AAG achieves a 100% pass for its China-based workforce

Only 28% of brands disclose their approach to achieving living wages for supply chain workers.

Following a Bureau Veritas audit, performance apparel company Active Apparel Group (AAG), based in Culver City, California, has achieved a 100% Living Wage pass rate for sampled employees at Ningbo Longson Garments, its manufacturing plant in China.

With a comprehensive network that reaches from Asia to Europe, AAG sources fabric from some of the world’s leading textile suppliers. Its factory in China has a market-leading seam-sealing, bonding, printing, and embellishment department that produces some of the most techncally advanced performance and swimwear garments in the world.                     

“AAG has employees around the globe and it is our mission to ensure each and every one of them is earning a living wage,” said Paul McCloskey, founder and president of AAG. “We have a responsibility to the people who directly impact our success and we’re very proud of our achievement.”

According to a recent study posted by The Industry We Want, the average percentage gap between minimum wages and the average living wage estimated in 28 key garment producing countries is 48.5% in 2023. This number indicates an increase in the wage gap of 3.5% over 2022 numbers.

Only 28% of brands disclose their approach to achieving living wages for supply chain workers and AAG continually invests in third party audits, including Gold level WRAP aand Sedex audits.

AAG will be attending ISPO in Munich, Germany, from November 28-30.
