Coloreel has teamed up with leading thread manufacturer Madeira to introduce a recycled polyester thread to be used with its instant thread colouring technology for embroideries.

In line with its aim of providing more sustainable and creative embroidery methods, Coloreel will move to providing the 100% recycled polyester thread providing customers with the ability to create more sustainable embroideries in thousands of colours that are CMYK, RGB/HEX and PMS compatible.

The recycled thread has passed through all industry standard quality testing, provides the same fastness properties as virgin polyester thread and is certified standard 100 by Oeko-Tex.

It will be sold in sets of 6 x 10km thread reels on recycled plastic cones packaged and shipped in recycled cartons.

“This provides our customers with a more sustainable embroidery alternative and solves the problem of the lack of availability of recycled polyester thread in a large variety of colours,” said Coloreel CEO Torbjörn Bäck.
