Burghard Schneider has been appointed CEO of the Swiss textile coating specialist Cilander Group on 1 March 2020.
Dr. Schneider studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Munich and received his doctorate in process optimization. As part of scientific and international collaborations, he has successfully worked in a wide variety of markets.
“As an experienced process expert, he will structure the product range and focus on services in international competition. The unique variety of innovative equipment and high-quality goods for tailor-made solutions should be further strengthened under the clear aspect of sustainability,” the company said today.
“For ten years, Burghard Schneider held various management positions at the German specialty materials manufacturer Schott, among others active in the field of fibre optics and coating and opened up new markets both technologically and regionally. He then headed the FELSS group, which is active in contract manufacturing and mechanical engineering and produces in Switzerland, Germany, the USA and China for the global markets. In the past six years, he has been CEO of the medium-sized group BYSTRONICglass, which provides services for glass processing in building technology, vehicles and display technology.”
“With his experience and extensive specialist knowledge, he submits ideal conditions to successfully master the challenges of the textile industry and to further strengthen the Cilander Group internationally,” the company said.
