Prices will be raised by 6% for dispersions and 8% for powders with effect from 1 June, or as contract terms allow, according to the company. “The price increase is necessary to recover margins to sustainable levels and ensure continuous high levels of investments in our products, processes, plants and services,” it explains.
The company’s product portfolio includes Emultex, a range of specialist vinyl acetate copolymer dispersions. These are designed to enhance functionality in architectural paints, intumescent coatings, technical textiles, adhesives and sealants. According to the company, compared to conventional co-polymers and terpolymers, Emultex product range delivers excellent pigment binding, producing intumescent coatings with high interior and exterior durability.
Another product family consists of Axilat re-dispersible powders, which are improving the performance of dry mix mortars and construction chemicals.
Synthomer is a leading supplier of emulsions polymers, styrene-butadiene and acrylonitrile-butadiene latexes and specialty polymers.
