The Dilo Group will be promoting new equipment components which improve product quality and increase line capacity in nonwovens production at the IDEA exhibition in Miami from March 28-31.

DiloTemafa’s Baltromix Pro bale openers now feature Industry 4.0 components for operator asistance, including bale timing, cleaning control and the Di-Lowatt system for energy savings in fibre transport, in addition to enhanced access for maintenance

The proven carding willow with modified workers and separate drives will be showcased with a new opening stage installed over the material box of the FRS-P card feeder to achieve a high dosing accuracy in both cross and machine directions.

DiloSpinnbau will introduce the Unifeed (VRS-P) card feeder which combines the principle of volumetric charged feeding with the characteristics of a chute feeder, but without the conventional overhead trunk, which allows for a lower ceiling height requirement. The fibre flock matt is condensed by a vacuum delivery apron to provide better uniformity of mass distribution and the feeder can be adapted for medium/fine, coarse/medium or long staple fibres.

DiloSpinnbau’s VectorQuadroCard incorporates a modular transfer group between its breast and main section. The quick change facility of this roller group provides different carding options and can provide parallel laid, random or condensed webs. The pre-opener section on the card has four worker/stripper pairs with five pairs on the main cylinder and the emphasis is on high throughput with enhanced web quality.

The revised DiloMachines HyperLayer NT crosslapper provides a high speed, precision layering technique which is particularly important on hydroentanglement lines, where it is important to achieve layering speeds of up to 190 m/minute using d viscose fibres with a layering width of about four metres while achieving a high layering precision in cross and machine directions.

DiloMachines will also present its 3D-Lofter, with which  individual web forming units can deposit fibre masses over freely programmable areas, saving overall fibre mass in applications such as deep moulded parts for automotive interiors.

The IsoFeed concept for achieving a more even flock mat with direct cards and aerodynamic web forming is another interesting field of web mat quality improvement.

The high stitch distribution uniformity achieved by the new 8000X and 6000X  needle patterns  is able to further improve surface quality.

Other developments underway relating to the needling process include a needle module with which needles are pre-mounted in multiple units of 22 for insertion into very high-density boards. This significantly reduces visible marking patterns on the product surface, while at the same time simplifying needle insertion and set-up times.
