High-performance composite materials
High-performance composite materials that offer new value are one of the four pillars of Teijin’s Transformation and Growth Strategies in its medium-term business plan. By leveraging its high-performance materials, Teijin aims to provide highly advanced solutions for increasingly diversified demands in the global market.
"We have supported the global market for protective apparel over decades with our high-performance materials, such as Teijinconex meta-aramid, Twaron and Technora para-aramid, Pyromex flame-resistant fibre, Endumax high-performance polyethylene, and since recently with Teijinconex neo, a new highly heat-resistant and dyeable meta-aramid fibre," said Masaya Endo, Teijin Group Executive Officer and General Manager of Teijin’s advanced fibres and composites business group.
Protective clothing
Today, strong demands exist in developed markets for protective clothing made with aramid fibres offering comfort, maneuverability and excellent dyeability, as well as high protection. In Asia and other emerging countries, rising standards for protective apparel are boosting demand for high-performance fibres in these markets as well, the company reports.
