The Teijin Group will show its latest sustainable textiles solutions at Heimtextil 2015, the biggest international trade fair for home and contract textiles, which takes place in Frankfurt, Germany, from 14-17 January.

The Teijin booth, designed as a living space to showcase materials in real-life settings, will present a variety of products and solutions focused on comfort and ecology, including mattresses, comforters, pillows and other bedding items.

The last edition of the leading exhibition, held every January, attracted around 70,000 visitors from 61 countries. Heimtextil offers a comprehensive events programme, including a series of lectures, guided tours, special shows, and competitions.

On display

Teijin’s elk is a lightweight, durable, cushiony and breathable material that serves as an excellent substitute for polyurethane in a range of cushioning applications, such as mattresses, according to the manufacturer. It is also said to be environmentally friendly because it does not generate cyanogen gas when incinerated.

Teijin will showcase comforters and pillows made with Solotex, a polytrimethylene terephthalate fibre that is said to be exceptionally soft, stretchable, shape-retaining and resilient. Partially bio-derived, Solotex is also said to help conserve fossil resources.

Teijin will also present a variety of high-performance polyester fibre for filling, including the highly soft-feeling FWALINE and the ultra-light Aerotop, a polyester fibre that has nearly 50% hollow ratio.
