Experts from several Oeko-Tex facilities will be available to advise the more than 60,000 expected visitors from around the world on the advantages and certification possibilities in the area of workwear, protective clothing and corporate fashion.

Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certificates

More than 500 of the roughly 14,000 Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certificates issued every year (as of August 2015) are allocated to workwear and protective clothing companies in all stages of production.

In addition to ensuring specific, functional properties and a good fit, proving that the textiles free from harmful levels of more than 300 substances plays an important role in the certification process.

For workwear and protective clothing, tested and certified textiles are critical as clothing is often specified and provided by the employer who is responsible for providing proper protection, at all levels.

In the industry, topics from corporate commitment to more sustainability within individual supply chains and international sourcing are being increasingly discussed.

Lectures

In a special exhibition area in Hall 7a at the Safety & Security innovation park, Jutta Knels from Oeko-Tex Zertifizierungstelle will give two lectures to educate interested visitors about the importance of the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 in the area of workwear and PPE.

As part of the Global Sustainable Textiles event at the Congress Center Düsseldorf Süd, Oeko-Tex General Secretary Georg Dieners will also take part in a panel discussion on Eco-Social Purchasing.
