The Textile Innovation Fund (TIF) has acquired a minority stake in 3Dimerce a 3D product management platform. The investment will be used by 3Dimerce to further expand its position as market leader and innovator in real-time 3D product configuration.

“With the knowledge, experience and capital of the Textile Innovation Fund we can focus on further development of our technology,” commented Roel Pollen, director of 3Dimerce.

“Our product configurator is highly powerful, enabling real-time 3D rendering faster and with even more accurate visuals. These 'power and brains' we combine with an easy to use content management system, making the 3Dimerce platform the missing link between marketing and ERP.”

Cloud based real-time 3D rendering

3Dimerce is based in Eindhoven and works with clients such as Bugaboo, the New York fashion designer Michel Andrews Bespoke and Dutch furniture brand Leolux.

“We make complex products available on demand in 3D. Our configurator is able to show the upholstery of a couch or the stitching in the lining of a fabric extremely accurate, on any device, website, app, and in AR and VR environments,” said Roel Pollen.

The technique of 3Dimerce is based on the gaming industry. “Cloud based real-time 3D rendering,” is how Pollen describes the principle behind the platform. The data can be linked with ERP systems to integrate directly into production processes. This means the marketing department has insights in user behaviour, while the development team always has access to all 3D assets.

Textile Innovation Fund

“3Dimerce is a frontrunner in the field of 3D product configuration, which allows mass customisation and other IoT applications to be used within the textile industry. With its ambitious goals 3Dimerce is a perfect match with the innovation objectives of our fund,” said Susan van Koeveringe, fund manager of TIF.

Textile Innovation Fund aims to strengthen the current business environment for the development of sustainable, new technologies in the textile industry. BB Capital Investments from The Hague is the fund manager of TIF.
