Itematech, established by Italy’s Itema in 2019 specifically to partner with weavers on tailored solutions for complex technical fabrics, will be highlighting a range of specialised machines at Techtextil 2024 from April 23-26 in Frankfurt.

The absence of a weft exchange as a result of the positive single rapier weft transfer of the Itematech UniRap, for example, enables a very wide range of high tenacity yarns to be processed – including carbon tapes and fibres, fibreglass, aramids, steel and lead-coated yarns. It is available with two separate weft insertion systems which can be transferred easily and quickly for different jobs.

The Hercules loom can meanwhile operate as both a negative and positive rapier weaving machine for the ultimate flexibility, enabling superior textile efficiency when handling the widest range of weft yarns counts, from 20 up to 48,000 dtex, in single or multiple weft insertion configurations.

Hercules is available in weaving widths of up to 6.2 metres and has a modular structure which can be customised according to individual needs. The basic machine structure is reinforced and can be equipped with different devices in order to reach beating forces of up to 5.5 tons depending on the reed width. It is suitable for producing heavy fabrics such as geo and agrotextiles, coated fabrics, conveyor belts, canvas, plain carpet etc.

Other Itema models for technical textiles include the P7300HP V8 projectile and the R9500EVO rapier which can be equipped with the iSAVER device to eliminate waste selvedge on the fabric’s left-hand side, for significant cost savings.

The recently-launched A9500 iLENO for secondary carpet backings has also rapidly gained popularity among technical weavers.

Itematech is at stand D24 in Hall 12 at the Frankfurt exhibition.
