Ventile has announced partnerships with Ravensbourne University in London and the Swiss Textile College (STF) in Zurich, aiming to inspire the next generation of designers and raise awareness about the importance of making sustainable choices.

Building on the brand’s recent support of education establishments, students and up-and-coming designers, Ventile is working with the BA (Hons) Fashion teams at Ravensbourne University and the STF to help students make informed fabric decisions that promote quality and longevity. Through a series of workshops, Ventile and the lecturers will deliver industry insights to raise awareness of the impact fabric choices have on fashion sustainability.

In collaboration with Ravensbourne University, Ventile is sponsoring an Outwear competition. The project challenges students to develop a collection concept, reimagining typical outerwear, considering design innovation, technical textile properties and overarching environmental impact. The winning student will have their garment professionally created in Ventile fabric.

In the same month, Ventile will partner with the STF to support its ‘Sustainable Engineering Process’ module for 2024. The brand will host an industry masterclass for a select number of students at its HQ in Zurich. The aim of the event is to provide students with hands-on experience and insights into sustainable fabric innovation, from raw material sourcing to advanced textile engineering.

“In a world where sustainability has become an increasingly important aspect of design and production, initiatives like these reflect our long-standing dedication to quality and innovation as well as our commitment to nurturing the next generation of industry leaders,” says Ventile Brand Director Daniel Odermatt. “At Ventile we are passionate about supporting emerging designers. Collaborating with academic institutions gives us the opportunity to empower students and push the boundaries of what is possible to shape a more responsible industry.”

The launch of the new partnerships follows Ventile’s ongoing dedication to new designers. In 2023, the brand supported Alessandro Tondolo as he developed his award-winning Coharesco collection for his MA Fashion at Central Saint Martins – presented at Somerset House during London Fashion Week.
