Popular lifestyle and leisurewear clothing brand Weird Fish is celebrating its 25th anniversary, having brought back its Cruiser 1/4 Zip Classic Macaroni sweatshirt, the brand's most iconic product from its heritage range.

“This very special anniversary is all about celebrating our heritage and the designs that made us who we are. We are really proud to champion the Macaroni range and we have gone back to basic with our classic heritage designs and brought back our much-loved metal fish bones zip pull,” commented John Stockton, Managing Director at Weird Fish.

“We’re so proud to have reached our 25th year and we’d like to thank all of our loyal customers and hardworking staff for helping us get to where we are today.”

Weird Fish story

The Weird Fish story began in October 1993. The brand set out with a mission to produce well-priced, well made and distinctive clothes that become instant feel-good favourites. Twenty-five years later, Weird Fish says it is proud to still have the same founding values at its core.

The original brand concept was based on artist T-shirts, after discovering a unique airbrushing technique. There was a rising demand for the original designs featuring the Weird Fish and from this, the brand was born. Weird Fish’s artist T-shirts remain as popular as ever, and the series of limited-edition charity T-shirts, designed exclusively for the RSPB and Battersea, are particularly popular with the brand’s loyal customers, the company reports.

Weird Fish is also renowned for its Macaroni sweatshirt range, which uses a triple-twist yarn, originally discovered in Turkey. The Macaroni has been with Weird Fish since the brand’s beginning and is still its most popular range, loved for its quality, comfort and individuality.

Promoting ‘new’ range

The brand’s headquarters is based in Gloucestershire, with 15 own stores, 20 concessions and over 400 wholesale stockists spread across the country.

To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Weird Fish will be promoting its ‘new’ heritage Macaroni range. Classic Macaroni styles, such as the Cruiser, will return, showcasing original designs, including the return of the much-loved metal fish zip pulls, and all at 1993 prices.

In addition to the heritage Macaroni range, Weird Fish is pleased to immortalise its classic logo on several retro print T-shirts, Big Bang and Evolution, which will be available online throughout November to celebrate the brand’s anniversary.
