China continued to be the world's largest producer and exporter of textiles and clothing in 2017 but its share of world textile and clothing exports remained static. In Japan and Taiwan, textile and clothing exports rose but production fell while in South Korea textile and clothing imports remained more or less unchanged compared with a year earlier. In Hong Kong, however, domestic exports and re-exports continued to decline, and so did production.
